Grace Church Weekend Away – Booking

The speaker will be Nathan Burley. Nathan is now the leader of Wem Baptist Church, Shropshire having moved from Nottingham where he was a pastor an church planter. He has been good friends with Mark and Chris since training with them over 12 years ago and continues to be a partner in the gospel. He will be teaching on 1 Corinthians 1 – Unimpressive! The plan is for the children and youth to follow a similar teaching pattern with teachers yet to be agreed upon. Here is the basic program we followed last time as a guide of what to expect… Basic Programme Friday Arrival from 5pm 6pm – Tea After Tea – Kids Intro Session 8pm – Session 1 (Kids Film) 9pm – Night Walk/Hot Chocolate Saturday 830am – Breakfast 930am – Session 2 1045am – Coffee Break 1115am – Session 3 1230pm – Lunch Afternoon- fun to be discussed 6pm – Tea 7pm – Evening Entertainments 830pm – Discussion 930pm snacks and board games (only if you are “in the mood”) Sunday 830am – Breakfast Pack up and leave rooms by 945am 945am – Group Photo 1000am – Session 4 1145am – Pack up and leave 1pm – Sunday Dinner – venue tbc Accomodation https://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/yha-ilam-hall This 17th Century gothic manor sits in 84 acres of National Trust parkland, with the beauty of Dovedale just on its doorstep. The beautiful youth hostel is full of character and nestled near the quaint village of Ilam. Families will have a room to themselves, most with en suite. Most of us are together on one floor. Things to bring All the usual stuff you will need for a weekend, including outdoor clothes if you want to go for the walk, including… – A Bible, notebook and pen. – A Mug/Cup and a refillable water bottle. – Indoor shoes/slippers – Towel (All bedding is provided) Parking The car park is National Trust. If you are a member of the National Trust then parking is free. If not, then there is a reduced rate of £2 per night for guests of the Youth Hostel. DO NOT use the Pay and Display machine. When you check into the hostel they will sell you a ticket to be displayed. If you let me know I can get some ready. Meals Breakfast and Dinner orders will be taken nearer the time. These will be served canteen style by hostel staff between agreed times. It would good if we all ate together. Lunch on Saturday will be arranged between us nearer the time. There is a small kitchen to store things in. Those bringing their own food can also store it in the kitchen, again it should be labeled. Cost The elders see the weekend away as an important weekend in the life of the church so we have money set aside to pay for it.
